I wanted to keep a smile on my face,
I wanted to talk but I didn’t know what to say,
I couldn’t understand how,
The angels could take you now.
You said you’d live until you’re a hundred and five,
But you didn’t make it to eighty-five.
Yet you did have an amazing life,
Seven children and a loving wife.
And so many Grandchildren I’m lost count.
And so now you join Uncle Peter in the sky,
And I think I know why,
Only someone like you Granddad,
Can stop him from being bad.
I love you Granddad
with all my heart,
It saddens me that we are apart,
And although my heart is broken and my eyes wet with tears,
You’re suffering has ended and so have your fears.
