They Lost You

I started to write a story where the main characters were in a band. I decided to try and write my own song. 

You sat in your room playing your guitar,
About how life’s not fair and nothing's the same,
Crying about how you never asked for this,
You never asked for this,

But they don't get you like I do,
They don't understand,
They made their mistakes and they lost you,
They lost you!

Now they come around trying to fix it,
Begging for you to forgive them,
But they don't deserve it,
They don't deserve it.

Because they don't get you like I do,
They don't understand,
They made their mistakes and they lost you,
They lost you!

They don't understand, and they lost YOU!
